The Rorschach test or inkblot test is a psychological test in which subjects’ perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analysed using psychological interpretation, complex algorithms, or both. Some psychologists use this test to examine a person’s personality characteristics and emotional functioning. The test is named after its creator, Swiss psychologist Hermann Rorschach.
The method is an interesting accompaniment to my current work, most of which I have been tackling with the issue of ambiguity. I have intended to show my own work with degree of ambiguity but mostly so the audience want to ask more questions, find out more information, the rorschach test is well know so the viewer will instantly ask why? What is it, is something wrong with the image?
